Welcome to NELPCF

Our parent carer volunteers are currently working hard to update our website - please bear with us.

Who we are:

  • We are the Parent Carer Forum for North East Lincolnshire. We are independent of the LA (Local Authority).

  • We are a passionate group of parent carers of children with a range of different needs and disabilities.

  • We champion, support and strive for positive change for SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) children and their families in North East Lincolnshire.

  • We believe in co-production: to work closely with the Local Authority, services and professionals in order to ensure that the correct level of support is available for children with SEND, and their families, in North East Lincolnshire.

What we can do:

  • We can signpost you to relevant services and places where you are able to access support.

What we cant do:

  • As a parent carer forum we are not able to provide individual advice and support.

Take a look at what's happening to find the next opportunity to come and say hello!

  Working together

  • Led by parents, for parents, passionate about making a difference, we aim to make the voices of parents just like us, heard, right where it matters. We do this by working in partnership with services in the local authority to create a better life for children living with SEND.

  • We believe in co-production and working closely with the Local Authority, Services and Professionals that support our children.

  • We aim to gather the experiences- good and bad- of families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, living in North East Lincolnshire. We can then share these experiences within meetings we attend to be able to make a changes going forward.

Thank you to our hosts:

North East Lincolnshire SENDIASS

North East Lincolnshire SENDIASS have kindly taken us under their wing. They have helped us find our feet and are hosting NELPCF.  We asked for some information one day and haven't stopped asking them since- so helpful!  We meet with the SENDIASS Team on a weekly regular basis, as they help support us as we find our way to creating a Parent Carer Forum we can be proud of.  Check our events page to find out when our next open meet or drop in is to come along and say hello. There might even be cake... but not if you wait too long!

Fortnightly coffee mornings

We hold fortnightly coffee mornings at Centre 4 in Grimsby. This is a chance for parent/carers to come together to be able to have a chat with one another and if needed have a chat with a NELPCF representative.

These coffee mornings have been successful and parent/carers have left feeling empowered and positive after listening to the experience of others and being able to share their own stories with others too.

We understand how daunting it can be to take that first step and do something new.  We want to make it as comfortable for you as possible, so if you require any reassurance, please do get in touch to let us know and we'll do our best to support you.

The dates for our fortnightly coffee morning are advertised on our Facebook members page. Please sign up to be updated with the latest information on what is happening. Members also receive email updates too for any upcoming events and news we need to share with you.

If you would like anymore information on our coffee mornings  and you dont have facebook then please feel free to email us at nelpcf@gmail.com and one of our representatives will get back to you.
